Carlos Waldow

I was born in 1958 in Southern Brazil, where I also spent my childhood and youth. After my theological studies I served as pastor in the German Baptist Church of Sao Paulo from 1985 till the end of 2000. Then, from 2001 to 2007, I served as General Secretary of the
Convenção Batista Pioneira (Baptist Union in Southern Brazil). Since 2008 I have been working as Mission Secretary for Latin America with the European Baptist Mission.

My wife Marli and my children Fred Lucas (18) and Stephanie Christina (16) play an important part in my life and my ministry. They support me in prayer and take active interest in my work, for which I am very grateful.

The decision to work with EBM/MASA was the result of God’s clear guidance through a Bible verse. This was of great help in our decision to move to Germany – which, by the way, was made by each member of our family individually on his and her own. It helped us in our decision to move, to obey our Lord, to accept his calling to this new task and to take up this challenge. As a result, I am very happy now to be working here with love and passion.

Good team work and a good relationship with the churches in Europe mean a lot to me. I would like to do my best so that still more people and churches will be involved in this “Mission of God’s”.  I am equally glad and willing to contribute to shaping the new fields of activity that have opened up to EBM/MASA in its mission work and its partnering commitment.
